During my recent weekend stay in Luxembourg City, I was hosted by two Sofitel hotels: I spent the first two nights at Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal and the third night at Sofitel Luxembourg Europe. The latter is the only 5-star hotel in Kirchberg, the neighborhood in Luxembourg home to several European Union institutions.

I stayed in the hotel’s panoramic suite, which is located on the top floor and is composed of an entrance, a large living and sleeping area, and a bathroom. The dominant color was blue, though in different shades. As for the bathroom, the light in the shower changed colors – a really fun effect I hadn’t seen elsewhere on my travels.
نزلت في جناح بانورامي بالفندق يقع في الطابق العلوي ويتكون من مدخل وغرفة معيشة كبيرة ومنطقة للنوم وحمام. كان الأزرق هو اللون السائد بظلاله المختلفة. أما بالنسبة للحمام فإن ضوء الدش تتغير ألوانه – تأثير ممتع حقاً لم أكن قد رأيته في أي مكان آخر خلال رحلاتي
From the suite’s large windows I could see the golden buildings of the European Court of Justice. They were actually very close to the hotel.
من نوافذ الجناح الكبيرة أمكنني أن أرى المباني الذهبية لمحكمة العدل الأوروبية والتي تقع على مسافة قريبة جداً من الفندق
I was invited for lunch at the hotel’s elegant Italian restaurant, Oro & Argento, which has very romantic interiors and a mouthwatering menu. The mushroom risotto is a must-try when you’re there – so is the dessert trolley.
دعيت لتناول طعام الغداء في مطعم الفندق الإيطالي الأنيق، أورو أند أرجينتو، والذي يتميز بديكور داخلي رومانسي جداً وقائمة طعام يسيل لها اللعاب. الريزوتو مع الفطر هو طبق يجب تجربته عند أرتيادك المطعم – وكذلك عربة الحلوى
Since I had a cold on that night, I preferred to call room service for dinner instead of heading to a restaurant. I was craving tomato soup (as I always do when I am feeling a little sick), but could not find it on the menu. Thankfully, that was not a problem for the restaurant staff, and I did get my tomato soup. That’s what I call excellent service.
حيث أنني كنت مصابة بالبرد في تلك الليلة، فضلت استدعاء خدمة الغرف لتناول العشاء بدلاً من التوجه إلى المطعم. كنت أتوق لتناول حساء الطماطم (كما أفعل دائماً عندما أكون متوعكة بعض الشيئ) ولكني لم أجده ضمن قائمة الطعام. ولحسن الحظ هذا لم يمثل مشكلة بالنسبة للعاملين بالمطعم وحصلت على حساء الطماطم. وهذا ما أصفه بالخدمة الممتازة
Breakfast at Sofitel Luxembourg Europe is served every morning in the hotel’s breakfast room on the first floor. The room’s interiors are more business-like than the rest of the hotel. The buffet is continental European, with a good selection of bread, pastries, cheese, and fruits.

In addition to the Italian restaurant, there is Le Stubli, a restaurant serving traditional Luxembourgish dishes. On the same floor, there are also two bars: Havana Lounge and Le Glaçon Rouge, where guests can have a drink or a snack from 10 a.m. till late.
بالإضافة إلى المطعم الإيطالي يوجد مطعم لوستوبلي حيث تقدم الأطباق التقليدية اللوكسمبرجية. وفي نفس الطابق يوجد مقهيان: هافانا لونج و لوجلاسون روج، حيث يمكن للنزلاء تناول المشروبات أو الوجبات الخفيفة من الساعة العاشرة صباحاً حتى وقت متأخر
For fitness addicts like myself, there is a fitness center open all day with several machines and with the same pretty view over the European Court of Justice I had from my suite.
لمدمني اللياقة البدنية مثلي، هناك مركز للياقة البدنية مفتوح طوال اليوم مجهز بالكثير من المعدات ويتمتع بنفس الإطلالة الجميلة على محكمة العدل الأوروبية التي يطل عليها جناحي
My verdict? Sofitel Luxembourg Europe is a pretty hotel with very good dining spots and a great location for those on business trips related to the European Union institutions in the neighborhood.
رأيي الشخصي؟ سوفيتيل لوكسمبورغ أوروبا هو فندق جميل ملئ بأماكن جيدة جداً لتناول الطعام وموقعه ممتاز للقائمين برحلات عمل تتعلق بمؤسسات الاتحاد الأوروبي الواقعة في نفس الحي
